Working primarily in downtown Binghamton, Bruce Wrighton made street portraits with his 8 x 10 view camera that show the city's blue collar inhabitants with sensitivity and an brilliant eye for color. His photography celebrates the classic American cars of the 1950’s, juxtaposed with the the city of Binghamton. More than simply portraits These photographs transport the viewer back in time to an era when America was optimistic and exhibited exceptionally stylish rides. Bruce Wrighton lived and worked in Binghamton, New York until his death in 1988 at the age of 38.
