The V&A’s blockbuster summer exhibition opens this weekend, promising plenty of food for thought.

From insect pâté to cheese crafted from Heston Blumenthal's bacteria, Food: Bigger than the Plate is plating up thought-provoking installations and interactive exhibits for guests to tuck into. Probably best to give Heston's bacteria cheese a miss, though.

Elsewhere, the show explores what food means to society, beyond its basic role as fuel, and is showcasing an edible water bottle, too.
