Chris Millsapp

Chris Millsapp Biography Atlanta-based multimedia artist and photographer Chris Millsapp builds a practice that bridges fine art, fashion, and narrative. Working primarily in digital and film, Millsapp is known for surreal, boldly colored portraiture that fuses hyperrealism with conceptual design, layering vivid color, expressionistic form, and deliberate negative space to probe questions of identity and perception. A decorated background in commercial lighting and in film and television production informs the meticulous attention to composition, color, and atmosphere that defines the photography of Chris Millsapp, imagery that is at once technically refined and deeply human. Chris Millsapp is the founder and director of Millsapp Media, through which he works across commercial, editorial, fashion, and fine art photography. His photographs have been featured in British Vogue and PhotoVogue, as well as in exhibitions and installations across Atlanta. Millsapp's central project is the fine art book Kaleidoscope: The Masks We Wear (Millsapp Media, 2024), a three-year exploration of identity through surreal portraiture. For the series, Chris Millsapp collaborates with Danish sculptor Stine Leth Jespersen, whose vibrant, large-scale yarn installations—sculptural forms and three-dimensional paintings defined by rich color and texture—become integral to the work. Jackson Fine Art introduced Chris Millsapp at the 2025 Atlanta Art Fair, presenting new works from Kaleidoscope at the gallery's booth. This marked the artist's first presentation with the gallery, and Millsapp will return with the gallery for a presentation at the 2026 Atlanta Art Fair.
