    Saïdou Dicko Biography Saïdou Dicko (b. 1979) is a self-taught visual artist from Burkina Faso whose practice spans photography, painting, videography, and installation. Inspired by his Fulani roots, Dicko builds his work around a signature motif: the shadow. He creates portraits of figures set against textured backgrounds enhanced with paint, collage, and textile elements, then hand-paints each silhouetted subject in black—flattening them into anonymous, universalized Shadowed People.
