For more than twenty years, Joseph Szabo taught high school art and photography, using his camera to connect with his students. In doing so, he gained access to a teenage world that most adults never see. His poignant images from the 1960s-1980s reveal a time of rebellion, self-expression, first love and emotion that accompanies the teenage years. Our Paris Photo presentation brings together a selection of renown and unseen silver gelatin photographs, including vintage prints from the artist's archive and several large-scale works. It coincides with the publication of American Teen by MACK books, a new monograph dedicated to his work and edited by Sofia Coppola.
