Our Untitled Art, Houston presentation will pair a selection of photographs from Gordon Parks' groundbreaking series Segregation Story with Dawoud Bey's Street Portraits,  bringing attention to their shared themes of social justice, race relations, civil rights, and the African American experience. The presentation is timed to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the landmark publication of Gordon Parks' images of the segregated South in Life magazine.

    Gordon Parks (American, 1912–2006) stands among the most consequential artists of the twentieth century — a photographer whose camera became an instrument of conscience. Working across five decades, Parks trained his lens on the fault lines of American life: poverty, racism, segregation, and the quiet resilience of those living beneath them.
